Directions on publishing in the conference proceedings.

Submissions will be accepted starting April 5, 2010
The Deadline for submission of manuscripts is May 30, 2010.

Authors should submit their paper via the IOP editorial-manager website. A link to the website will be provided beginning April 5, 2010.

All registered participants are invited to submit one conference proceedings paper of no more than 4 pages. Accepted manuscripts will be published in Journal of Physics: Conference Series. Plenary and invited speakers will be invited to submit a manuscript of up to 8 pages to a ‘topical special issue’ of Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter. The combined proceedings will be published jointly.

All papers will be peer-reviewed using the rigors of the IOP Peer Review Policy

The proceedings of SCES 2010 will be published in the open access Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS), published by IOP Publishing. All papers will be free to read and download immediately upon publication. Papers published in JPCS will be hosted in IOP Publishing’s electronic journals system and will be fully citable – in addition, citations to your paper also will be tracked online.

The guidelines for authors (oral and poster contributions) are available at the Journal of Physics: Conference Series website that provides the template and guideline packages for Microsoft Word and LaTex2e, or download the JPCS files, see bottom of this page.

Licensing, copyright, etc.: By submitting an article for publication in JPCS, the author is assumed to accept the terms of the Proceedings Publication License [must provide link]. In addition, by submitting an article the authors declare that the paper does not infringe third party rights, contain libelous, and/or contain unlawful statements.  The assignment of copyright form is no longer required.

Authors MUST submit their paper as a PDF file prepared according to the guidelines.

Preparing your paper

Journal of Physics: Conference Series uses author-supplied PDFs for all online and print publication. Authors are asked to prepare their papers using Microsoft Word or LaTeX2e according to the journal guidelines and templates.

Instructions on preparing your paper, together with Microsoft Word and LaTeX2e templates, can be downloaded from the JPCS journal web site.

What you need to provide:
The PDF file of your paper (maximum length 4 journal pages): When preparing their papers, authors are kindly requested to ensure that you follow the minimum basic requirements from the journal guidelines. Full details are available online, but as a minimum authors should

  • Use either European A4 or US Letter sized paper with at least a 25mm white space margin all around the page.
  • Ensure that your paper includes an abstract, however brief.
  • Not add any page numbers, headers or footers to your article as these will be added during the publication process.

Any multimedia files you wish to publish online

  • JPCS encourages authors to submit multimedia files to enhance the online versions of published research articles. Multimedia guidelines are included with the Word and LaTeX2e templates.

Please do not send your papers directly to JPCS.

Please note that you have to register first via the IOP editorial-manager website in order to submit a paper. The login parameters used for abstract submission will not be valid.

Refereeing

All papers published in this volume of Journal of Physics: Conference Series will be peer reviewed through processes administered by the Editors. Reviews will be conducted by expert referees to the professional and scientific standards expected of a proceedings journal published by IOP Publishing.”

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FOR PLENARY AND INVITED CONTRIBUTIONS

(maximum length 8 journal pages)
The guidelines for authors (plenary and invited speakers, only) are available at the following JPCM journal  website that provides the template and guideline packages for Microsoft Word and LaTex2e or download the appropriate files below. 

All invited contributions to the ‘Topical Special Issue’ will be expected to report new and original results that are unpublished elsewhere and will be peer-reviewed in line with the usual strict editorial criteria for JPCM.
